You can arrange for bussing to and from camp through Renert School. Parents are also welcome to drop off/pick up their campers. Please indicate if you intend to transport your camper during online registration.

Yes, KEC is owned and operated by the Red Deer Presbytery of the United Church of Canada. However, the camps we provide to Renert do NOT involve spiritual content.

Parents are welcome to come out to KEC in advance for a site tour, or drop their campers off and have a tour on registration day, but are discouraged from visiting while camp is in session. This is for security reasons and because we will be working hard to create strong connections between campers, and visitors disrupts this.

You will receive the password via e-mail prior to camp. Please e-mail us if you forget the password or have any questions.

After this many years in the biz, we are well aware that dietary preferences are as unique as our campers. We do our best to plan meals that the "average kid" loves- soup and grilled cheese, lasagna, tacos, and more, while following Canada Food Guide recommendations. With advance notice, our kitchen team can prepare yummy meals for campers with gluten or lactose intolerance, vegetarians and vegans, and food allergies. We keep our eye on picky eaters to ,make sure they go to bed with full tummies, too.

We’ll keep your campers so well fed that they won’t need snacks! Snacks attract mice and pests into our cabins. We also want to protect campers with allergies. If you do send snacks, we ask that you hand them in to us at Drop-Off. Campers can access their snacks throughout the day.KEC is a no-nut facility! Do not send snacks that contain traces of tree nuts or peanuts.

Label each medication with the camper’s name, medication, prescribing doctor and phone number, and brief directions for use. Fill out a Distribution of Medication Form (provided online during registration) and hand in ALL meds to a teacher supervisor when your camper boards the bus for camp. You can specify if a camper needs to keep their inhaler or epi-pen on their person.

The KEC Experience is built upon connections between our campers, staff, and nature. To create authentic connected experiences, we do not allow digital or wifi devices at camp.  

While we discourage phone calls because they disrupt the camp experience, we recognize that some campers might need to make or receive a call due to anxiety or special circumstances. We trust that you’ll only make calls if necessary, and never deny you access to your camper! We will get your approval before letting a camper call home.
